healthitweek

The RCHN Community Health Foundation is a sponsor of National Health IT Week, held this year on September 15-19, 2014. Now in its 9th year, National Health IT Week is a collaborative forum showcasing the essential role of health IT in transforming healthcare in America.   The 2014 National Health IT Week theme, “One Voice, One Vision,” celebrates the 9th year of transforming health through the adoption of new technologies.  Health IT in general, and electronic health records (EHRs) in particular, improves the quality of healthcare delivery, increases patient safety, decreases medical errors, and strengthens the interaction between patients and healthcare providers.

The Foundation recognizes the vital role health information technology plays in transforming health care delivery and promoting higher quality and more efficient care.  Our continued participation in in National Health IT Week highlights our commitment and interest in advancing  integrated, interoperable and outcomes-oriented health information technology, and advancing the needs of community health centers for sophisticated and cost-effective HIT, enabling CHCs to best serve their patients and communities. National HIT Week will be recognized with many partner events locally and in the nation’s capital. Along with  the Capitol Hill “Steering Committee on Telehealth and Healthcare Informatics,” we hope that you’ll join us for the annual “HIT Showcase” on Thursday, September 18th, 10:00 am – 6:30 pm at the Reserve Officers Association  1 Constitution Avenue, N.E., Washington DC, 20002.
