Celebrating Our Legacy, Shaping Our Future
National Health Center Week (NHCW), 2015.

August 9-15, 2015

National Health Center Week (NHCW) celebrated in August each year, highlights the significant contributions of our nation’s community health centers, and the dynamic role they play in providing affordable, high-quality, cost-effective health care services. This year’s theme, “America’s Health Centers – Celebrating Our Legacy, Shaping Our Future,” recognizes the important contributions of community, migrant, homeless, and public housing health centers who together serve over 23 million people at 9,200 sites in urban and rural communities across the country. It emphasizes the value of the health center model of care – patient-centered, accessible, affordable – as well as the essential role CHCs play as economic engines, providing jobs and economic returns along with health care services to truly improve the overall health of their communities.

As we celebrate the milestone 50th anniversary of the community health center movement, RCHN Community Health Foundation is proud to once again be a NHCW partner organization. We thank the National Association of Community Health Centers for their leadership and sponsorship of this week’s activities and applaud the work of our community health center colleagues for their service to all, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. NHCW events and activities are listed on the NHCW website, along with resources and tools to help promote CHCs in your community.

We look forward to hearing about the many events in your community. Locally, we hope to participate in the events sponsored by our New York colleagues, listed on the Community Health Care of New York State (CHCANYS) website.
